Waitangi Treaty Grounds Matariki Open Day (Koha Entry)

In celebration of Puanga Matariki, Waitangi Treaty Grounds are holding a special open day with no entry fees on Sunday 12th July. Instead a koha is requested.

Visit Waitangi Treaty Grounds and enjoy their full programme of free guided tours and cultural performances!

While entry is free, koha is warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated. Your contribution helps support the ongoing care of this special place and the cultural experiences shared with our community and visitors.

Bring the whole whanau and explore the two contemporary museums Te Rau Aroha Museum of the Price of Citizenship and Te Kōngahu Museum of Waitangi, Te Whare Rūnanga, the Treaty House and the traditional Māori waka.

Children will receive a Matariki Rapuhia / Seek ’n’ Find Activity on arrival. As they explore the Treaty Grounds, tamariki will discover clues, objects  and places linked to Te Kāhui o Matariki, the stars of Matariki, creating a fun and meaningful way to connect with this special time of year.
