Performed entirely in te reo Māori, Ngā Reta is a powerful solo show about identity, whakapapa, and the pull of home. Urban Māori Mia wants nothing to do with her culture – until a box of letters arrives from Nan, revealing her mum’s journey through womanhood and shaking everything she thought she knew. Twelve characters. One actor. Written and performed by award-winning Te Huamanuka Luiten-Apirana, Ngā Reta has toured the motu and returns this Matariki to the Turner Centre.
